The Nerja caves are a series of caverns that stretch for almost 5 kilometres and are known for their impressive stalactites and stalagmites.

Cycle Route from Nerja to Cerro Gordo
Leaving the cyclenerja hub in Calle Almirante Carranza you cycle through the centre of town of Nerja itself `keeping the sea on the right-hand side. A stop at Burriana Beach is a nice place for an early coffee before continuing on the coastal road towards the small village of Maro. From Maro to the viewpoint at Cerro Gordo you keep on this coastal road for around 12 km. This road boasts stunning views of the Mediterranean as you are cycling high up along the cliffs and coves that make up this stretch along the Costa del Sol. En route to Cerro Gordo there is a beautiful beach called Playa Canuelo which is a must to visit and perhaps have lunch at one of the 2 restaurants located there. The steep climb back up from the Canuleo beach is made easy by the E Bikes. The area around Cerro Gordo is a short cycle from Canuleo and here you will find yourself in the natural park and the viewpoint gives fabulous views of the coastline stretching to Almería. It is an ideal to place to stop and have a picnic or to sit and simply take in the view of the landscape. From here you can continue cycling to Herradura, another beautiful Spanish coastal village or head back to Nerja the same way, enjoying the views, sunshine and the ease of cycling.
Cycle Route from Nerja to Frigiliana
Another favourite is the cycle route from Nerja to Frigiliana, a charming whitewashed village that is about 6 kilometres (3.7 miles). The journey is more challenging because it’s a hilly landscape, but with the electric city bike the route is made easy. Leaving the cyclenerja hub in Calle Almirante Carranza you cycle out of town and head over the motorway and inland and up and up to Frigiliana. Then E city bikes are suited perfectly to this steep climb to the village. In fact there should be plenty of battery left to head to the back of the village to take the quiet top round through the mountains and down into the traditional village of Torrox, then the coastal town of Torrox Costa finishing with a flat cycle next to the sea to return to Nerja. This route is a beautiful circular route taking in 3 towns and with plenty of choices for coffee and lunch stops.
